webPDF Version 7.0 is here!

The platform-independent PDF server enters the next stage. Version 7 introduces long-awaited features such as the Barcode webservice and new bridges for direct conversion with Microsoft Office. The fully redesigned portal has also improved significantly in appearance, usability, performance, and feature scope.
The server API has been expanded as well, with new SOAP and REST webservice endpoints and extended parameters. This broader API gives developers an even simpler and more flexible way to connect webPDF to both new and existing systems.
What's new in Version 7.0?
In addition to conversion through the integrated "Outside In" converter, webPDF Version 7 supports integration with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office (Version 2010 and later). Integration is handled either through SharePoint's "Word Automation Service" (WAS) or Microsoft Office OLE automation. This delivers the highest possible conversion quality for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
The new "Barcode" webservice can detect and generate common two- and three-dimensional barcode formats, including Aztec, EAN 13, EAN 8, PDF 417, and QR Code. It can read barcodes in defined areas or place them on selected pages. This allows you to retrieve barcodes directly from your systems and apply them to outgoing correspondence. As a result, shipping processes become easier and shipment data can be linked with order data.
The redesigned web portal with integrated PDF preview and improved drag-and-drop has also gained many new functions. Users can now add comments, highlight text (annotations), and place watermarks, barcodes, or electronic signatures precisely. Adding and removing file attachments in PDF documents is now also supported directly in the portal.
For webservices, new SOAP and REST endpoints have been introduced based on XML Schema Definition (XSD). XSD is used consistently across all endpoints and allows data transfer as XML and JSON structures.
Here is an overview of the new features in Version 7 and a preview with screenshots from the new webPDF portal.
