Redact confidential content

In many cases, confidential information must be removed before sharing a document. This can affect visible text or images. This process is called redaction.

With update revision 2159, the "Redact" feature was introduced for this purpose.

You can use it to:

  • mark individual words or lines
  • mark areas such as images
  • mark entire pages

Afterward, the markings are applied permanently via "Apply redactions".

Important: Portal functions are based on the "Toolbox" webservice and can also be used directly through the API.

Sanitize document

In addition to visible content, invisible supplemental information can also be removed, for example:

  • comments
  • attachments
  • layers
  • metadata
  • table of contents
  • tags

Via the "Sanitize document" dialog, this information can be removed from the entire document.

In addition, forms and pages can be flattened. This removes interactive elements and reduces them to a static representation.
